Technology Research

 In the Research Center, you can develop technologies that boost your Realm and your heroes. To unlock this building, you need to complete all Realm adventures and upgrade Hall of Heroes to level 9.

Basics

You can access the Technology Research menu directly from the main screen:

Or through the Research Center in your Realm:

In the Technology Research menu, you will find:

  1. Technology Trees, where you unlock technologies grouped into different categories.
  2. Research Queue. Here, you can see your active research and the remaining time until it is completed.
  3. Research Chest, where you can get rewards for unlocking technologies.
  4. The list of all your bonuses. 
  5. The special offer that unlocks the second Research Center and research queue. The offer appears when your Hall of Heroes reaches level 13.

To learn more about the technology, tap its icon. This window shows the bonuses it provides and the requirements for unlocking it:

  1. Technologies can only be unlocked in the order shown in the tree. To unlock a specific technology, first check which other technologies need to be unlocked before it.
  2. More advanced technologies require a higher-level Research Center.
  3. You need enough resources to begin research.

As with construction, you can instantly complete research using emeralds, consuming only the resources you currently have. Elarite and Honor Marks are an exception — you need the required amount to use instant research.

You can also choose to research with a timer. Timed research can be sped up, and as you level up the Research Center, your research speed increases.

Note: You cannot start research in the Research Center that is being upgraded. Similarly, if research is ongoing, the building cannot be upgraded until the research finishes.

Initially, there is only one queue, so you can research just one technology at a time. While the research queue is active, you can upgrade other technologies only with emeralds. To clear the queue, you can speed up the research or cancel it.

Note: If you cancel the research, your resources will not be used. However, any speedups used during this research will not be refunded.

When your Hall of Heroes reaches level 13, you can purchase the second Research Center and unlock the second queue.

The second Research Center cannot exceed the level of your main Research Center. For example, you cannot upgrade it to level 20 until the main one reaches level 20. Upgrading the second Research Center also increases the overall research speed.

Technology Trees

Research technology trees to improve your Realm and strengthen your heroes:

  1. Growth technologies increase the speed of construction, research, training, and expand training capacity. You can also unlock an additional march queue there.
  2. Economy technologies boost resource production and speed up resource gathering.
  3. Troops technologies enhance troop stats.
  4. Heroes technologies improve the stats of all your heroes.
  5. Tactical Classes technologies increase the stats of heroes belonging to tank, healer, support, and control classes.
  6. Combat Classes technologies improve the stats of heroes belonging to combat classes: marksmen, warriors, and mages.

Note: Technologies that boost heroes' stats work across all game modes.

To help you get started, the game highlights recommended technologies with a special sign.

Alongside the basic technology trees, you will find advanced ones: Tactical Classes, Troops PRO, and Combat Classes. They are initially locked. To view the unlock requirements, tap btn_info.png next to a technology tree or just press the tree.

Researching advanced technologies requires Honor Marks.

Honor Marks can be obtained in Guild Versus:

  • by opening some personal progress chests;

  • in Weekly Victory or Weekly Effort Rewards;

    versus_honor_marks_weekly_rewards_en.jpg

  • in seasonal League or Qualifying Rewards.

Research Reward Chest

Researching technologies also gives you Research Flasks. Once you have enough Flasks, you can open the reward chest in the bottom-right corner of the Technology Research menu.

Each chest opening starts with a common chest. During that opening, you have three attempts to upgrade its quality. The higher the quality, the more valuable the rewards.

Chest quality is shown by background color:

  • Common — blue background.

  • Rare — purple background.

  • Epic — orange background.

A successful attempt is indicated with an arrow icon:

Opening a certain number of chests also improves the value of the rewards inside.

If you do not have enough Flasks to open a chest, tap it to see how many more Flasks you need and how many openings remain until the next reward upgrade:
