Some heroes’ abilities have a special effect — damage over time. It deals damage to a target gradually over a set duration, rather than all at once. The longer the effect lasts, the greater the total damage will be. You can identify this effect by its keyword in skill descriptions.
Damage over time may be physical, magical, or pure. It has no unique icon in battle and appears like a regular attack, with its color determined by the damage type. The damage type and skill duration depend on the ability.
Damage over time has key features:
- cannot be dodged;
- cannot miss;
- cannot be reflected;
- can deal critical damage (it calculates separately for each tick of damage over time).
Note: Heroes’ abilities that have the Sacrifice keyword cannot deal damage over time.
