How to Take a Screenshot

A screenshot is an image of a screen's content. Screenshots are crucial for troubleshooting.

Select the name of your device's operating system to view the instructions.

Android

Depending on your device model, you can take a screenshot using one of the ways below. Open the screen you want to capture and follow one of these instructions.

  • Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time and hold them for a few seconds. The screenshot will be saved to your device.
  • Press and hold the Home and Power buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.
  • Hold down the Power button for a few seconds. A menu will appear where you need to tap the Screenshot option.
iOS

Open the screen you want to capture and follow one of these instructions, depending on your device model.

iPhone

  • For models with Face ID, press the Side and Volume up buttons at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.
  • For models with Touch ID and the side button, press the Side and Home buttons at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.
  • For models with Touch ID and the top button, press the Top and Home buttons at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.

iPad

  • For iPads with a Home button, press the Top and Home buttons at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.
  • For other models, press the Top button and either of the Volume buttons at the same time and then quickly release both buttons.
Windows
  1. Press the Print Screen button. Depending on your keyboard, this button might appear as PrtScn, PRTSC, PRTSCN, or a similar abbreviation. On a laptop, you might need to hold the Function (Fn) key and then press the Print Screen.
  2. Open Paint, Word, or any image editing program and press Ctrl V. The image you have just made will be pasted into the chosen program.
  3. Save the file and attach it to your inquiry.
MacOS
  1. Hold the Command (cmd) key, press Shift, and then hit 3 to take a screenshot of your screen.
  2. All screenshots are saved automatically as .png files on your desktop. Find the appropriate .png file.
  3. Attach the file to your inquiry.
