Arena

The Arena is a PvP game mode that unlocks at team level 10. This article tells more about the Arena rules, battles, and rewards.

Transition to New Arena

When transitioning to the new Arena, players will receive a ranking based on their place in the old Arena.

Place in the old Arena Number of Trophies you start with League you start in

1–200

9100 Emerald I
201–500 7100 Gold III
501–1250 6100 Gold II
1251–2000 5100 Gold I
2001–2750 4100 Silver III
2751–3751 3100 Silver II
3751–4750 2100 Silver I
The remaining players 50 Iron I

Note
Rankings might be highly volatile during the first few weeks after transitioning from the old Arena to the new one. Thus, players with similar rankings may have significantly different power values during this period, and you may face opponents significantly stronger or weaker than you.

To get to the Arena menu, press Hero Arena in the middle of the main game screen:

In the Arena menu, you can also find:

  1. Where to set your defense team.
  2. The number of available Arena Tickets.
  3. The shortcut to the Arena Shop.
  4. Your current league and rewards.
  5. Ranking and the Arena Journal.

Note
You can gather two teams in the Arena: defenders and attackers.

  • Defenders fight when other players attack you. You gather this team in the Arena menu.
  • Attackers fight when you attack other players. You gather this team after selecting an opponent.

The Journal tab provides information about your latest battles, both in defense and offense:

You can watch battle replays, share them with Guild members, and view the detailed battle statistics here.

Battles

To start a fight, you need an Arena Ticket. You get five free Arena Tickets every day with the daily reset at 5:00 AM your in-game time zone. You can always get more with emeralds: each purchase will grant you five additional attempts. The higher your VIP level, the more purchases you can make a day.

Battles in the Arena last two minutes, just like in the Campaign. If both teams are still alive at the end of the battle, the defense team wins.

Note
All battles in the Arena are automatic; thus, you cannot control your heroes manually. When you press the To battle! button, the game server calculates the battle results. So, the fight you see is just the recording; it is not real-time.

You can skip the battle replay by tapping the pause button in the upper-right corner and pressing Skip Battle:

Matchmaking

Players from all over the game compete in the Arena, regardless of the server and region. The game matches you with an opponent close to your ranking.

  • If you win frequently, you will encounter higher-ranking opponents more often.
  • If you lose frequently, you will encounter lower-ranking opponents more often.

Leagues

Arena players are divided into several leagues based on their number of ranking points.

When you win a battle both in offense and defense, you get ranking points — Trophies:

When you lose a battle, you lose Trophies:

The number of Trophies you receive or lose after a battle depends on the outcome of the battle, your current league, and the difference between your ranking and your opponent's.

Note
There is no limit on how many Trophies you can get or lose a day.

Once you get enough Trophies, you move to a higher league.

You can also drop to the lower league if you lose Trophies. The more Trophies you get, the higher the league you will reach and the better your rewards will be.

Note
Some items in the Arena Shop get unlocked upon reaching a certain league.

At the end of the Season, players in the Emerald I league and higher have their league and Trophies reset. They start a new Season in the Emerald I league with 9,000 Trophies. To learn which leagues have a ranking reset:

  1. Press the Info button in the upper-left corner of the Arena menu:

  2. Scroll down to the very bottom until you see this table:

Rewards

Press Leagues on the main Arena screen to view all the leagues and the rewards you can get:

By reaching a certain league, you can earn the following bonuses:

  1. Promotion reward. You receive this reward the first time you advance to a new league. Promotion rewards for each league can be obtained only once.
  2. Daily bonus. You can collect this reward when you enter the Arena for the first time during the day. The day resets at 2:00 AM UTC. The reward amount depends on your highest position on the day before. For example, if you reach the Emerald II league but later drop to the Gold III league, you will get the daily bonus for the Emerald II league on the next day.
